A little friendly competition never hurt anybody. In the case of Publican Quality Meats’ sixth annual Burger Night series, the people of Chicago will be reaping the benefits of pitting Chicago restaurants and chefs against each other for a weekly good grub throwdown.
From May to October, Publican Quality Meats (825 W. Fulton Market 312-445-8977) will play host to a series of face-offs between Chicago chefs, breweries and celebrities. The competition starts on May 2nd with Shake Shack and Chef Tyler Kord from No. 7 Sub.
Guests can roll up without a reservation—no tickets required, either—to take part in judging who will take home the title of the supreme burger-slinger of round one and burgers will be available a la carte from 6 to 9 p.m. Publican Quality Meats chef Joe Frietze will be on hand for the assist in the kitchen.
The May and June schedule also includes:

The full line-up will be available soon, but these pairings are more than enough to excite any stomach within a 50-mile radius of the city. Other future pairings will feature Paul Kahan, Stephanie Izard, Half Acre Brewing, Elske and Big Star but have not yet been scheduled.
