Share

The 39th annual Montrose Oktoberfest will be held from noon to 11 p.m. Saturday along the 2200, 2300 and 2400 blocks of Honolulu Avenue in Montrose.

Several well-known Southern California craft breweries will participate.

Hanger 24 will pour its fall seasonal Oktoberfest beer, and Golden Road Brewery, a Glendale craft brewery, will be serving a Hefeweizen beer, a traditional Bavarian-style beer, brewed with a Californian twist.

Brewyard Brewery will also be pouring alongside four craft beer booths in the new “Craft Beer Garden” in the parking lot of Montrose Travel, 2349 Honolulu Ave.

Also being served will be traditional Bavarian sausage made by Schreiner’s Fine Sausages in Montrose, which supplies Pink’s, Dodger Stadium and Knott’s Berry Farm.

There will be a family fun zone with rides, games, face painting and a craft area.

The event will feature four stages of live entertainment, which will include the German American Brass Band, the D’Oberlanders German Dancers, Past Action Heroes ‘80s flashback band, country music band Podunk Poets and the Gypsy Band.

There will also be four contests held throughout the day — Mr. and Mrs. Oktoberfest, Lil’ Ms. and Master Oktoberfest, Best Dressed Dog and the Stein Holder Contest.

Admission is free. For more information, visit montroseoktoberfest.com.
