Three suspected Glendale home burglars led police on a wild freeway pursuit Thursday afternoon before crashing into a center divider in Eagle Rock and running across lanes, police said.

One suspect was arrested almost immediately after the crash, while another was hiding in a backyard and the third was found lying in the bushes near the freeway, according to Glendale Police Sgt. Robert William.

Shortly before 2 p.m., a witness called Glendale police to report a residential burglary in the 1200 block of Ethel Street.

A Glendale Community College police officer spotted the suspect vehicle, a Scion, entering the southbound Glendale (2) Freeway at Mountain Street.

The driver led the officer on a pursuit, reaching speeds of more than 100 mph before crashing into a center divider near York Boulevard.

The trio fled on foot, running across the northbound lanes of the freeway and under a freeway underpass.

An officer responding to the area spotted one suspect running and took him into custody.

A second suspect was found hiding in a backyard after allegedly trying to kick through the resident’s dog door, while the third was located by a Glendale police captain, lying in the bushes near the freeway where the vehicle crashed, unable to get up on his own.
