Florida shoppers will be spending less paycheck on organic groceries at Whole Foods Market.

Amazon Prime members will now get deep discounts on weekly specials at the grocer’s Florida stores with benefits introduced Tuesday.

Prime members can scan the free Whole Foods mobile app at checkout and get 10 percent off hundreds of weekly sale items and discounts on best-selling products in Florida stores, the company said in a news release.

Amazon plans to expand the discounts to all Whole Foods Market and Whole Foods Market 365 stores nationwide in the summer, the retailer said.

The Seattle-based Internet behemoth, which acquired the grocery chain in August for $13.7 billion, has been lowering prices on organic foods and giving Prime members special coupons to save at the store as it continues to integrate the companies. An annual Prime membership now costs $119 a year after a price increase of 20 percent went into effect on May 11.

Offers available in Florida stores through May 22 include $10 off wild-caught halibut steaks for $9.99 per pound; $2 off oranic strawberries for $2.99 a pound; buy-one-get-one free 365 Everday Value sparkling water 12 pack; and 50 percent off a 16-ounce cold brew Allegro coffee at the coffee bar.

“This new Prime benefit at Whole Foods Market is a perfect pairing of healthy and delicious food at even more affordable prices,” said Cem Sibay, an Amazon Prime vice president, in a release.

In February, Amazon announced it would begin offering free two-hour delivery of natural and organic products from Whole Foods Market through Prime Now in select cities. The program hasn’t launched yet in South Florida, but Amazon says it plans to expand the program this year.

In June, Amazon opened a 50,000-square-foot Prime Now processing hub in the Wynwood Arts District in Miami and currently offers select Whole Foods organics and its 365 Everyday products for delivery.

Amazon also has introduced 5 percent back in rewards for purchases at Whole Foods Market with the Amazon Prime Reward Visa credit card.
