818 Roundup: Glendale officials to vote on new rule for local massage parlors

Massage parlors may soon need to get a permit if they want to operate in Glendale. The Planning Commission on Wednesday will vote on amendments to the city code that would require all massage establishments — existing and new ones — to obtain a conditional-use permit.
The Burbank City Council will meet with City Atty. Amy Albano in a special closed session at 6:15 p.m. on Monday at Burbank City Hall. On the agenda is a performance review of City Manager Mark Scott, who last week announced his plans to retire after a disagreement with the council on the reclassification of a city employee’s job title, specification and salary.
As Thanksgiving meals morph into leftovers and shoppers triangulate the coordinates of their next big bargain, some local organizations are putting the finishing touches on two La Cañada events designed to ring in the holiday spirit.
Imperial stormtroopers from the 501st Legion will occupy the Buena Vista Library in Burbank next week as part of a celebration of the “Star Wars” movies.
- For the 39th straight year, the Montrose Christmas Parade will coast through the heart of the quaint downtown area on Saturday.
